6 WAYS TO AVOID COSTLY PRODUCTION DELAYS
Over a decade of experience in alc-bev manufacturing has given us the insights to catch efficiencies from a mile away. Sometimes the smallest detail can cause the biggest delay. Here's the top ways to best prepare for your next bottling or canning project.
1. Start TTB permitting early (new brands)
Federal permitting averages 6+ months and must be completed before any
production can begin. For assistance with your permit application, we recommend CRAFTED LEGAL .
2. Finalize packaging selections ASAP
Packaging is the #1 cause of production delays. Lock in final selections, review with Griffo and place orders early.
3. Submit bottle and case label designs
Submit your final designs to Griffo for review and COLA submission. TTB label
approval takes ~2 weeks from submission but revision cycles can extend this
significantly (see our handy TTB labeling guide). Label printing or glass decoration can take 3-8 wks + shipping.
4. Avoid late-stage revisions
Changes to formulas, packaging or labels after approvals often require TTB re-
submission and restart the clock.
5. Review & approve material orders, proofs and samples promptly
Delays in client approvals directly push back production scheduling.
6. Monitor Inventory & forecast reorders early
Planning ahead dramatically reduces lead times, costs, and prevents stockouts.
Track your run rates, finished goods and raw material inventories closely.
